Pew Research confirms Drudge Report's power and influence on the Web

May 9, 2011 (Reston, VA) - A new study from the Pew Research for Journalism Studies confirms that the Drudge Report continues to be a major influence in online media. The site, published by Matt Drudge, has been influencing the media for over two decades. It remains a top driver of traffic to news websites including WashingtonPost.com and FoxNews.com. The Pew study shows that "the Drudge Report's influence cuts across both traditional organizations such as ABC News to more tabloid style outlets such as the New York Post. It drove more links than Facebook or Twitter."
